It’s always nice when an expert is just a phone call away.

There are, however, some quick and easy solutions you can try on your own. Below is a list of common issues, causes and remedies for HVAC systems. For anything that falls outside this list, setup a service call online or contact us at the office, after hours is available.

 
 
No Cooling
Potential Cause First Course of Action Suggested Solution
You may have a tripped circuit breaker in your home Check your home circuit breaker box Reset circuit breaker
Your thermostat may be off or set incorrectly Check to make sure your thermostat is on and set to cool Reset thermostat to your desired temperature
Your indoor unit is running, but the outdoor unit is not Air coming through your vent will be warm. Check temperature setting Try turning off your thermostat for 1-3 hours to see if it will reset or unplugging the furnace.
No Heating
Potential Cause First Course of Action Suggested Solution
Your gas could be turned off Check gas valve at gas company meter, check shutoff valve at furnace, check for other shutoff valves Contact gas company to have gas valve turned on, or contact us online or at 405-949-5566
Your system could be turned off or your unit unplugged Check your thermostat and system itself to assure that they are plugged in Refer to your use and care manual or contact us online or at 405-949-5566
Your thermostat may be off or set incorrectly Check to make sure your thermostat is on and set to heat Reset thermostat to your desired temperature
You may have a tripped circuit breaker in your home Check your home circuit breaker box Reset circuit breaker box
No Airflow
Potential Cause First Course of Action Suggested Solution
This may be the direct result of dirty filters Check the filters in each of your system components Clean or replace filters as recommended in your use and care manual. If the problem persists, please contact us online or at 405-949-5566.
Your system may have frozen up as the result of a dirty coil Check for signs of water below unit and cold exterior surface of indoor coil enclosure Try turning your thermostat off for 1-3 hours to see if it will unfreeze. The unit will also need to be unfrozen before we can service it.
Unusually High Utility Bills
Potential Cause First Course of Action Suggested Solution
If your system is reaching its set point, is it working correctly?

Are your local temperatures constantly in the extreme?
Check the following:
• Is your system cycling constantly?
• Is your thermostat reaching its set value?
• Do you have any new appliances (e.g., a hot tub or pool heater) that are using a lot of power?
• Have you checked to see if your local utility company had a recent rate increase?

Equipment Runs All The Time
Potential Cause First Course of Action Suggested Solution
Your system could be trying to reach a set point that is too extreme. Check the set point on your thermostat. Is it very low (summer) or very high (winter)? Reset your thermostat. If that doesn’t work, please contact us online or at 405-949-5566.
Drain Pan is Overflowing
Potential Cause First Course of Action Suggested Solution
The overflow switch is probably not working Turn your system off Contact us online or at 405-949-5566.
